Progress on the Bungalow

I decided on some very wacky pop art wallpaper for the hallway :) This room will be modern/wacky with some secrets.

I chose a soothing yet sexy wallpaper for the bedroom, that matches the peacock theme of the house's front door. I can't wait to get these rooms done! I have fab plans. :)

2 hints about the theme of the Bungalow

There are 2 symbols that I'll share in this post, that will give you a hint as to the theme of the Bungalow. Can you guess what it is? The 1st picture of the glowing symbol is painted on the roof of the dormer window in the bedroom. It's made with glow in the dark paint so that it can be seen at night when the lights go out. The bed is situated just under it.

Do you recognize this glowing symbol?

Making liquor bottles for the bar

I purchased a bunch of un-labeled bottles from a vendor on Ebay, and I printed out some liquor lables for them, and them just glued them onto the bottles. These are kind of fun to make, and you can find the lables on line :) This cart is 1:12 scale

The Haunted Mansion

I'm starting to fill up the Apothecary cabinet. I have several little creepy things to make so, I expect it to take a while before it's completed. Here's a partial shot of the electric chair and it's control box :D

I'm gearing up for Halloween over here, and getting some finishing touches done on the Haunted House. I've been sidetracked by the Bungalow, and realized that it's already September! More to come :)

The working ceiling fan is in the house :)

We just installed the working fan by Creative Reproductions to Scale ( CR2S ) You can find them on the web here
:) Here it is. Once the house is completely assembled, I will post another video of the entire house electrified. Next, we are going to start on the 2nd floor.

The Kitchen lights are in as well. This was made easily out of strip wood and swivel lights.

Playing with the floor plan

I'm playing with the floor plans a bit before I commit where I need to glue the fire place :) Working on cutting the window trim and the base board. Lastly, the working fan goes in! This floor plan works in one way, and the other floor plan works more if one was actually living there. Divisions, decisions...

Stocking the bar up for the Bungalow

I found this little vintage bar cart a while back, and I thought it would be perfect for the scene I'm doing in the RGT Classic Bungalow dollhouse. I'm starting to stock it up with little necessities. It's a party!

Modern home deserves modern function

The Bungalow is my 1st modern dollhouse project. My previous builds have all been Victorian's and I'm have a bunch of fun with it. I decided to get a working doorbell, and a fully functioning fan for the house. This is the doorbell :) Classing ding dong sound.

This is the working fan. I'm so in love with it!

The Classic Bungalow screamed until I started on it lol

Yes, it's true. I was working on the Diana when the RGT Classic Bungalow arrive for a future build however, once it arrived, it refused to sit it the box. I'm glad it insisted on being built because, I'm having a ton of fun with this one. I went with a daring color scheme for it's paint which consists of a rich, deep peacock blue, a mossy green, and a deep caramel for the exterior.

Once I say the front door that came with the house, the large oval window gave me the opportunity to create the peacock stained glass window for it. (I'm planning on doing a tutorial for the stained glass windows soon). There will also be 2 stained glass windows on the 1st floor to match the peacock colors.

New Project, The Diana Dollhouse 1:12 scale

My latest project that hubby and I decided on was to do a "girly" looking dollhouse for a change, and we chose The Diana by Greenleaf Dollhouses. This house screamed out to be make in a shabby chic style with soft pastels and lots of florals with pale blues and soft pinks. I decided to create a stone facade on the exterior made from paperclay, that I plan on painting in soft pastels, and hints of browns, and soft green moss. Here's the color scheme I chose for the exterior but, I think I might add some soft oranges and pale mint greens. I however, have been stuck because I can't decide on the living room lighting yet but, it's a 3 day weekend, and I'm hoping to get some work done on it over the next couple of days!

Working on the furniture layout.

Glow in the dark, radio active plasma, potion bottles

Potion bottles...you just can't have too many. I have some amazing glow in the ark paint that I dug out of a bin. I haven't seen it for years, and I wanted to use it for the interior of my Jack-O-Lanterns so that once the light in them are turned off, they would still glow. I used that same paint to create this spooky plasma

Miniature Pully Toys

I just love tiny, old-fashioned miniature replicas of toys for my dollhouses. The days of ole toys just seem to have more charm, and romance than the new, plastic and technology base play things. I was on Pinterest one day, and came upon an artists offering of some super cute, "ride friendly" pully toys, and I just had to make some. One is never enough lol I'll post more as the become completed.

I engineered the cart so that the wheels would actually roll. I love the tiny detail of the wheels. They scream "circus" to me.

More photos of Ravenscroft Manor, a haunted Dollhouse

I love this angle of the dollhouse because, it shows the adorable dormer window. Can you see the rust on the fences? :D

The yard is in dire need of raking lol

The Living Room
This is the living room with Shadow the cat. I'm going to make some beaded curtains to go over the front door. It'll give it a bigger Victorian feel.

I always wanted to live in an old Victorian house, and have a really cool attic bedroom. I would imagine it would look something like this.
